Girls love Drama!

Drama is part of the regular curriculum in both Junior and Senior departments of the school, many taking the subject to GCSE and A level. Girls can also take optional Speech and Drama lessons leading to the graded examinations in speech and drama.

There are many organised theatre visits, particularly for the examination classes.

Drama Productions

Girls can take Drama at GCSE and A level as well as appearing in school productions

The school usually stages one or two major Drama productions each year, ranging in style from traditional Shakespeare to contemporary musicals, and there are frequent smaller productions from the girls’ timetabled Drama lessons.

Recent productions include ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, the musical ‘The Boy friend’, ‘The Caucasian Chalk Circle’, ‘The Insect Play’, and ‘Silly Money’, a play with songs and music for pupils in Years 7-9.
