AdmissionPupils of a wide range of ability are admitted to both Junior and Senior departments of the school. We take overseas boarders as permanent pupils, and also welcome temporary pupils who may come for just a term or for a few weeks to improve their English and experience life in an English girls’ school. Junior Lavant
Junior Lavant takes pupils from age 3 in the Foundation Class, and girls may board from around age 8. Admission to Junior Lavant House is by an informal interview during a day spent at the school. Senior SchoolFor admission to the Senior school at 11+ girls would normally make an initial visit with their parents, and would then sit entrance tests in English, Maths and Reasoning on our annual assessment day which is held in January each year. Girls from our own Junior department normally proceed to the Senior school. For entry at other ages an informal interview is followed by a day in school during which assessment tests take place and the candidate would spend some time in lessons with her own age group. Previous school reports would be taken into account. Sixth FormFor entry to the Sixth Form girls would be expected to have achieved 5 GCSE passes at grade C or above, or the equivalent. Requirements for particular AS and A level courses vary, depending on the subject and the candidate’s previous background. |
