About Lavant House

Day Girls

The majority of pupils are day girls who live in the towns and villages surrounding Chichester and Lavant. After school care, flexible boarding and school buses are available as described below.

The School Day

Girls should arrive by about 8.30am to get their books ready before registration at 8.40am. Lessons finish at 4.00pm.

Junior teaching staff are on the site from 8.00am and our younger pupils can be cared for in the After School Club, which operates every day in term time from 4.00 till 6.00pm.

Senior pupils can arrive as early as they like, and stay late. Prep is supervised by a member of teaching staff who is on hand to help where necessary with homework assignments until 6.00 pm. Girls may stay later if they need to, when the Boarding House staff take over.

Flexible Boarding

Day girls can stay at school overnight, or for a few nights, occasionally or regularly. Just telephone the Boarding House to check availability.

Bus Routes

The school operates four minibus routes over a 20 mile radius to transport day-girls to and from Lavant. Details of each bus route can be obtained from the Bursary.
